Gutted for Scotland, eleven more sleeps until Celtic’s back

Gutted for Scotland, but glad to get our four bhoys home unscathed….

After much hope of making history and a place in the knockout stages of the Euros, it typically ended in the most Scottish way possible.

A last gasp goal shattered our dreams and as always, we are packing our bags and heading back home as the serious action starts.

In all honesty we can’t have any complaints as we were far too negative and lacked self belief and quality in our three games. We will never get a better chance of qualifying for a a major tournament, but we blew it and questions should be asked of Steve Clarke’s job going forward.

But every cloud has a silver lining, and as much as it hurts to see us knocked out, it frees up Callum McGregor, Tony Ralston, James Forrest and Greg Taylor who can now get some much needed rest before joining pr-season training with Celtic in a couple of weeks’ time.

They also avoided picking up any knocks or injures while in Germany so that’s another added bonus.

Scotland are out and now the focus will shift to club football once more with kick off for the new season fast approaching.  It’s just eleven more sleeps until Celtic return to action against Scott Brown’s Ayr Utd side at Somerset Park.  Can’t wait…
