Former Celtic FC Women Goal Machine Tash Flint has signed a contract with Tampa Bay Sun, a brand-new football club over in the USA.
Despite a lot of supporters wanting to see Flint sign a permanent deal with the Celts, she returned to her parent club Liverpool after another successful loan spell in Glasgow. Signing on for the rest of the campaign in January, Tash played an important part in Celtic’s historic title-winning season, scoring many important goals, including a crucial opener against theRangers at Ibrox.
Tash returned to Liverpool in the days following the expiry of her loan deal, posting to Instagram: “Celtic, thank you again for everything! Another short stay but it’s been amazing. Thank you. Also, let’s not forget… History has been made.”
Leaving the UK with silverware under her belt, Tampa Bay Sun will be hoping she can carry her form across the Atlantic for their inaugural season in the USL Super League.
No news on Celtic transfers yet but I’d expect Elena Sadiku to make a move for some players in the coming weeks. With many players now out of contract or approaching their release, we could see a few new faces in Glasgow sooner rather than later.
Sadly, Tash won’t be one of them, but we all wish her the best in America.
