Fabio Silva, the Portuguese sand dancer who spent the last four months on loan at theRangers from Wolves apparently choose the latest Ibrox club over Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side back  in January.

That’s according to the players father who is adamant that his son seen a move to Ibrox as a better career option than moving to Celtic Park. If true (and it’s a big if), maybe the reason was because he reckoned he’d have a better chance of playing in their team rather than ours.  Maybe old man Silva was simply reading the newspapers headlines about his son.

Whatever the explanation we can only thank Fabio from the bottom of our hearts for ‘rejecting’ Celtic and instead heading over to Ibrox.  It’s debatable whether Celtic did have a genuine interest, but if they did then we definitely dodged a bullet, that’s for sure.

Fabio Silva showed in his time in Scotland that while he does have some talent, he’s a very sub standard player who spent most of his time trying to con referees with his ridiculous diving antics.

The fact Wolves parted with £40 million for him beggars belief, even by the inflated EPL standards. He did indeed choose wisely in moving to Ibrox, because he wouldn’t have seen much game time at Celtic Park, if any.

Like most in theRangers squad he would have been a bench player at Celtic Park, at best.  I think we can all agree on that. With Motherwell (one), Hearts (two) and Celtic (four) sending players to the Euros there’s not one single player from the Ibrox squad that made it into a national squad. That tells its own story.

So Fabio on behalf of the Celtic supporters, we will be eternally grateful to you for choosing a move to Ibrox rather than Celtic, if your dad has his facts right.  You left Scotland will nothing to show for it as Celtic picked up the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup double.
