    Celtic hold discussions with U18 striker but face Premier League competition

    Celtic have reportedly held talks with Middlesbrough’s Ajay Matthews as the Scottish Champions look to snap up the English prospect. Matthews would be available for a cross-border fee but Celtic face competition from Premier League sides, including Boro’s North East Rivals Newcastle.

    The youngster would be competing with Joey Dawson as a contender for the first team and if he can replicate the form for Boro’s U18s – with 16 goals in 17 starts – then he might be onto something. The player would almost certainly be a development player that would join the B Team at the club; however, he is of a decent pedigree having worked his way up at Middlesbrough.

    Celtic are looking to bring Adam Idah back to the club on a permanent deal. The new Norwich City manager wants to look at the Irishman before deciding whether to sanction a move. It appears that Oh is on the way out .
