Cameron Carter-Vickers has praised Brendan Rodgers for keeping the Celtic squad calm and confident and for ensuring that they ignored the noise.  The American international defender noted that there’s plenty of that in and around Glasgow when it comes to football!

When you compare and contrast with the our rivals for the Scottish Premiership and our opponents in the Scottish Cup Final then you would struggle to put up a plausible argument on theRangers squad remaining calm. Their slightly deranged manager was anything but throughout the closing weeks of the season.  If Philippe Clement couldn’t keep himself calm then how could he expect to achieve that with his players?

On the confidence factor, that’s about keeping the balance right. You need just the right about, not too little as that breeds an inferiority complex that only losers have.  And too much as that leads to arrogance and often leaves those loudest with egg on their faces.  Just ask Cyriel Dessers.

As for ignoring the noise, well when you have players like the aforementioned Dessers and tiktok Todd Cantwell creating it themselves then it’s clear that Clement failed in that aspect too.  That’s the third of three factors that CCV identified as what made the difference.  These led to Celtic winning the title by an eight points margin from theRangers.

Watch this and you’ll get a better idea of what happened and how Celtic’s strategy was the current one, thanks to Brendan Rodgers. And as the dust settles there must surely be some of theRangers fans who will begin to understand the reasons why they ended up falling out of the title race, despite all trash talk that they indulged in.
