The Celtic YouTube page has uploaded a video showing the highlights of Martin O’Neill’s final game as Celtic manager.
On this day, in May of 2005, Martin O’Neill led his Celtic side to a 3rd Scottish Cup victory under his management. Following a 2-1 victory over Hearts in the semi-final, Celtic road to the final to face Dundee United was clear.
Although the final wasn’t a high-scoring game, with the goal from Alan Thompson in the 11th minute proving to be the match-decider, the Hoops nonetheless secured the Scottish Cup for the 3rd time with Martin O’Neill as manager.
In this clip, we see the goal which decided the match, then a few highlights of the celebrations which followed, as well as a short speech from Martin himself outside Paradise.
