Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley has reflected on the club’s Scottish Cup Final win over Rangers labelling the Scottish Champions “a special club”. The Danish midfielder played the entirety of the game at the National Stadium as a late Adam Idah goal delivered the trophy back to Celtic Park.
Taking to on his Twitter page, O’Riley said that it was a great way to end the season as Brendan Rodgers side completed the Double.
Great way to end the season🏆🏆

O’Riley admitted at the Player of the Year event at the OVO Hydro earlier this month that he felt the same way as supporters did about the club. It is, however, likely that there will be renewed interest in the outstanding midfielder this summer.
In 48 appearances this season, O’Riley has scored 19 times and assisted on 18 occasions. The midfielder has been excellent this campaign and that form manifested itself into interest from La Liga giants Atletico Madrid. It looks like Celtic will command a record fee for the player but it’ll be a shame to see him go.
After signing from MK Dons in January 2022, O’Riley has gone from strength to strength. Despite the modest fee of £1.5m, O’Riley was actually one of the statistically best performing midfielders in England in that period (albeit in League One). His talents were spotted by Celtic and after Riley McGree opted for Middlesbrough, Celtic signed a much better player.
