Report: Celtic to open talks over Adam Idah transfer

Celtic will reportedly open transfer talks with Norwich over the permanent transfer of Adam Idah. The Irishman netted the only goal in Saturday’s win over Rangers, which completed a League and Cup Double for the Celts.

Now, as reported by The Record, the Celtic board want to press on and complete the signing of the 23-year-old.

The striker has scored 9 times and assisted once in 19 appearances since arriving on a deal until the end of the season. The move proved to be a master stroke from Brendan as the big striker scored some huge goals, none more so than the Scottish Cup Final winner.

The manager wants to have Kyogo and Idah competing for the striking role at the club. Oh may benefit from a loan deal in the summer ahead, too.

Celtic will look to compete on multiple fronts and retain both the League and Scottish Cup while competing in Europe and challenging for the League Cup. In order to do that, there needs to be strength in depth with players offering pace and power. Idah certainly fits that remit and is proven at this level. The only issue is that Norwich may move away from their previous value of Idah in the summer, especially given his displays this year.
