More incompetence from the Scottish FA as controversial match official John Beaton is confirmed as VAR official for the Scottish Cup Final…
The officials for the Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and theRangers have been announced and as usual it’s been left open for scrutiny.
Nick Walsh gets the whistle for the Scottish Cup Final
Nick Walsh will be the man in the middle assisted by Calum Spence and David Roome. Stevie McLean will be fourth official, with wait for it, John Beaton is on VAR duties.
John Beaton will be on VAR duties at Hampden on 25 May
The very fact that Beaton is on VAR is annoying, especially after his gross incompetence at Tynecastle a couple of months back. A game in which Brendan Rodgers criticised the official for his handling of calls that were proven to be wrong within that match, including an incredible decision to manufacture a penalty for Hearts.
Beaton was of course handed the Glasgow Derby last month, just weeks after his show of incompetence, so it really shouldn’t come as a surprise that he’s been chosen to look over incidents in such a big game.
It’s no secret where Beaton’s allegiances lie regarding which side he favours, so why on earth is being appointed for such a high profile game?
Not only is Beaton regarded as an ‘incompetent’ and biased official by the Celtic support, the SFA have shown how incompetent they are for even handing him such an influential role in our showpiece final.
