Former Celtic defender David Moyes will leave his role as West Ham United manager at the end of the season. The Scottish manager has confirmed that he will leave the Premier League managerial role after four and a half years, bringing to an end his second spell in charge of the Hammers.
Moyes spent three seasons at Celtic between 1980 to 1983, winning the league in 1981/82. He has been a revelation since returning to West Ham, guiding them to European success and it will be interesting to see where he ends up next. Moyes always speaks well and he did not want to leave Celtic back in 1983 when Davie Hay sanctioned his £20k sale to Cambridge United.
Celtic have courted Moyes on a couple of occasions but no move has transpired. With Brendan Rodgers currently enjoying his second spell at the club, there is no vacancy. However, in the future, Moyes may feel that he has some unfinished business at Celtic and now, having progressed his career to become a successful manager in the English Premier League, moving to Celtic at some stage may be an aspiration.
