That important result and impressive performance sets Brendan Rodgers and his squad up nicely for the three remaining three matches in the Scottish Premiership over the next few weeks and ahead of the Scottish Cup final against theRangers at Hampden on Saturday 25 May.

Celtic play theRangers at Celtic Park this Saturday before heading to Rugby Park to play Kilmarnock a week on Wednesday then it’s back to Celtic Park the on Saturday 18 May for the last game if the league campaign.

Yesterday felt important

Yesterday felt important. Hearts had beaten Celtic in the last two meetings are were looking for a third consecutive victory over Celtic, which they hadn’t achieved since 1961. They certainly started well and had the better of the opening exchanges but after five minutes or so Celtic clicked into top gear and really did put on a show.

Blatant handball by Shankland

It was 2-0 at the interval with two brilliant efforts from Kyogo and if anything Celtic played even better in the second half but only added one further goal, through Matt O’Riley after the most blatant handball by Shankland was missed by the referee Kevin Clancy, but spotted by VAR.
