Matt O’Riley and Amy Gallacher nominated for PFA Scotland Player of the Year

Celtic stars Matt O’Riley and Amy Gallacher have both made the final shortlist for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year for the Scottish Premiership and SWPL1 respectively.

Both Celtic stars have had outstanding seasons and have contributed hugely to Celtic sitting top of both league tables for the men and women’s game, with four games remaining to be played in the Scottish Premiership and five in the SWPL1.

Matt O’Riley – Celtic FC

Matt O’Riley is one of four named nominees for the PFA Scotland Premiership Player of the Year and he is up against theRangers goalkeeper Jack Butland and their penalty taker James Tavernier as well as the Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland.

Amy Gallacher – Celtic FC Women

Meanwhile the three other nominees for the PFA Scotland SWPL1 Player of the Year, aside from Celtic FC Women star Amy Gallacher are Jorian Baucom (possibly a player that Elena Sadiku will be looking at this summer) and a pair from theRangers, Kirsty Maclean and Rachel Rowe.

Hopefully the fact that both Celts are up against two players each from theRangers will split their vote and improve Matt and Amy’s chances.

Or maybe there will be enough momentum for the Edinburgh pair from their fellow professionals and there’s no doubt that Shankland and especially Baucom have had outstanding seasons for Hearts and Hibs Women respectively.

Still hope that both Celtic stars Matt O’Riley and Amy Gallacher win!
