Chris Sutton has warned theRangers that Celtic are more than capable of flipping their crowd advantage on Sunday and turning their own support against Philippe Clement’s team in the Glasgow Derby. A bright Celtic start, perhaps with Brendan Rodgers’ side taking the lead and John Beaton and the rest of theRangers support will show their displeasure making it a harder task for the home side.
Rangers only need a dodgy start
“It’s easy playing at Celtic and Rangers when things are going well. Rangers only need a dodgy start at Ibrox on Sunday – a poor 30 minutes where Celtic can take the lead – and then they’ll all be hammering the players! Just wait and see…” Sutton said on Sky Sports.
And while Sutton welcomes the news last week concerning the return of a half-decent allocation for away fans from next season, he insists that this is only a partial solution and the desired outcome should be back to the full allocation that was only slashed after Celtic’s repeated success at Ibrox.

Back to the way it used to be
“Away fans being allowed back next season is encouraging. It’s a first step. We all want it back to the way it used to be with a full allocation,” Sutton said.
“We need that as a fixture, it’s a big game around the world. I suspect people would have been looking at the no away fans and thinking: ‘This is really petty, isn’t it?’ It’s not fitting of the game and we’re getting it back to where it should be.”
Anything can happen, any scoreline
Even Kris Boyd reckoned Sutton had a point about Sunday’s Glasgow Derby. “If you look back to the first Old Firm (sic) match this season at Ibrox, that fantastic Kyogo strike silenced Ibrox so it shows it can turn,” Boyd said. “It can have its plus points but at the same time, it can go against you in exactly the same way it happened there. It’s up to (the)Rangers to start the game positive and get the fans behind them.”
🗣️ “It’s impossible to call. Anything can happen, any scoreline!”
