Strap yourselves in, the serious stuff starts today and it’s going to be a bumpy ride…

This afternoon sees Celtic head to Dens Park to play Dundee in the first of five cup finals before the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden on 25 May. This is as they say the business end of the season, and we have no margin for error with our lead at the top a very slender one.

    The onus and pressure

By the time we kick off we may well be level on points with theRangers who kick off at noon in paisley against St Mirren. The onus and pressure will be all on us as we take on a very dogged Dundee side.

It’s a game Celtic must win if we want to win the league, we need to win each and every game until the end of the season if we want to be sure that we successfully defend our title.

    Three points the only target

Okay, it’s not exactly a fatal blow if we fail to win today, but it would give our rivals added confidence and momentum if we were to slip up.  So three points should be the only target on our minds this afternoon.

No one knows how it’s going to pan out in terms of the destination of the title. But I have full belief in our manager Brendan Rodgers and his squad to deliver the title. They not only have the collective ability, but the experience and know how to get us over the line. And they are the best team in Scotland.

One thing I can say for sure is that it’s going to be one helluva ride, so get yourselves strapped in. It will to be a bumpy one with plenty of ups and downs, dramas, dodgy VAR decisions and ‘Penalty to Rangers moments’ along the way.  And of course John Beaton.
