Daizen Maeda’s incredible recovery is huge boost for Celtic

Daizen Maeda has an incredible ability to make life extremely difficult for defenders whether that is attacking or defending. A number of opposition players probably breathed sighs of relief when Brendan Rodgers said the Japanese attacker’s season was likely over.

Although, the news that filtered through from Tuesday evening is that the Duracell-fuelled winger was back training after a miraculous recovery from a hamstring injury.

Maeda will not be available at the weekend in the game at Dens Park; however, if he can get himself fit and firing for the Rangers game then this would be a huge boost for the team and support.

Brendan Rodgers trusts Maeda to carry out an aggressive press with power and intensity from the off. His goal against Rangers earlier this month showcases this.

Celtic are a better team with Maeda and the news that he is coming back into the fold is an enormous boost for the club – especially with a league and Scottish Cup to win.

Knowing Daizen he’ll make his comeback coming off the bench against Hearts so that he is ready to start the following Saturday against James Tavernier down that wing and Daizen just loves that particular challenge.
