Celtic told to consider signing Burnley full-back, on-loan at Dundee

Celtic should consider signing Dundee left back Owen Dodgson, according to Tam McManus. The defender gave Nicolas Kuhn a tough afternoon in Celtic’s 2-1 win against Dundee on Sunday and the pundit believes that the Scottish Champions could look at signing the Burnley loanee.

Speaking to PLZ Soccer, McManus said that Celtic should look at the 21-year-old.

“I like the left-back, Dodgson. I think he’s on loan from Burnley.

“He’s been excellent, I think Celtic and Rangers should be looking at him. The two games I’ve seen him, against both Celtic and Rangers, I thought he was really really good.”

Celtic were linked heavily with Owen Beck from Liverpool, who impressed in the first half of this season. The Welshman was backed into a corner after Jurgen Klopp gave him a late substitute appearance in a win over Bournemouth – meaning he could stay at Anfield to extremely limited game time or return to Dens Park.

Owen Beck might be a target for Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers this summer, with the former Leicester City manager, reportedly rating the Liverpool left back very highly indeed.

However the number one priority in the transfer market this summer is replacing Joe Hart in the Celtic goals. Those are big gloves to fill.
