Celtic have released a short, sharp statement about the decision to reject the appeal against Yang’s red card at Tynecastle. The first half incident, just one of the dubious decisions by John Beaton on VAR, saw the yellow card upgraded to a red after an on-field review.
Celtic appealed the decision but after the news that this was unsuccessful came out, the club expressed their surprise and disappointment in the decision.
“We have received notification that the club’s claim has been dismissed.
“Clearly we are surprised and extremely disappointed at this decision.”
Celtic will likely be waiting for some time to hear about whether the SFA have addressed their concerns about the standard of refereeing but, no doubt, they’ll be quick to cite Brendan for his comments after the game.
