Reo Hatate nearing Celtic return ahead of title run-in

Celtic have been handed a boost by the news that Reo Hatate is nearing a return to fitness. After picking up an injury on Asian Cup duty with Japan, the 26-year-old has been working back towards fitness and will hopefully be back in contention as Brendan Rodgers and his team push for their third title in a row.

As reported by the Daily Record, Hatate is the latest Celtic player set to make a return to action from injury after a stop-start season comprising of just eleven appearances. The midfield talent has two goals and two assist to his name.

It will be a major boost to have Hatate back in the centre of the park as his goal threat and ability to scrap in a defensive sense makes him an ideal player to have when competing for silverware.

Celtic will be without Hatate for Sunday’s Cinch Premiership game against Hearts but they will also likely be without skipper Callum McGregor, who has picked up an injury on his calf/achilles. Hopefully, the absence of CalMac from training on Friday was a precaution and that the 30-year-old will be fit and firing for the title run-in.
