Following last week’s announcement of Celtic FC Foundation’s charity match at Celtic Park, tickets are on sale now to Season Ticket holders for Celtic Legends v Borussia Dortmund Legends.
It’s a 2pm kick-off on Sunday on 26 May – the day after the Scottish Cup Final – and the match will bring together a host of club greats for what promises to be a fantastic occasion for a great cause.
Former Celtic captain, Scott Brown will once again pull on the armband to lead the green and white, with former Celtic and Borussia Dortmund legend, Paul Lambert taking charge of the Hoops in the dugout, ably assisted by yet another Celtic legend and former club captain, Tom Boyd.
German giants
The visitors will also assemble a strong squad with the likes of Marcel Shcmelzer and Roman Weidenfeller amongst the German giants’ side as the clubs celebrate their strong bonds, having both won the greatest prize in club football with Celtic’s European Cup win back in 1967, before Borussia Dortmund lifted the trophy almost 30 years to the day in 1997.
The Legends Charity Match promises to be a fantastic occasion for all the family and tickets are on sale now to Season Ticket holders, priced at: Adults – £15 and Concessions – £7.
Season Ticket holders have a priority window to buy tickets for the Legends Charity Match, on a first-come, first-served basis. While your seasonal seat cannot be guaranteed, you can plan to bring friends and family with no ticket purchase limit in place.
All remaining tickets for the match will be available to buy on general sale from 10am on Wednesday, 20 March.
Heritage of the club
Funds raised through the match will focus on feeding people in need of support, to reflect the heritage of the club and respond to the current cost of living crisis, which is overwhelming so many families and individuals.
This will include continuation and development of Celtic FC Foundation’s Paradise Pit Stop project at Celtic Park. In addition, we will look to secure new locations for food provision with local partners in Inverclyde and Lanarkshire, plus London and Ireland to complement our current delivery of key projects in those areas.
Scott Brown
With Scott Brown set to captain the side, we’re delighted to confirm that a donation will also be made to Dundee Cancer Centre at Ninewells Hospital, in memory of his sister Fiona, who sadly passed away in 2008 aged just 21.
