Celtic star to go up against Manchester United and Aston Villa midfielder for award

Celtic captain Callum McGregor has been nominated as one of the finalists for the William Hill Men’s International Player by the Scottish Football Writers. The 30-year-old will go up against Manchester United’s Scott McTominay and Aston Villa’s John McGinn for the award, along with Norwich goalie Angus Gunn.

CalMac has been a pivotal part of Steve Clarke’s side as they qualified for the European Championships in Germany.

McGregor has been outstanding for Scotland at the base of the midfield, allowing McGinn and McTominay to push forward and try get amongst the goals. Unfortunately for Scotland, McGregor will be unavailable for the games against N Ireland and Netherlands through injury. However, this is a
