“Celtic are happy with the progress l’m making,” Lawal

Bosun Lawal’s outstanding season at Fleetwood Town continues to attract significant interest in the Celtic central defender come midfielder who is set to return to Lennoxtown at the end of the season.

And the Ireland U21 defender is, despite interest from around England, fully focused on making the breakthrough at Celtic next season.

Fleetwood hero

Lawal has become a Fleetwood hero netting three goals in recent weeks and turning into a real leader in the team playing more recently in an advanced midfield role.

Speaking to Irish Independent Bosun made his intentions clear as he eyed a first team opportunity at Celtic.

“Celtic are a big club and came in for me so I was interested straight away. I just want to progress and hopefully break into the first team to make a name for myself and my family,” Lawal said.

Contract boost

“The contract was a big boost. I had been doing well in the academy and training with the first team but I felt like it was time for me to get out and get good first-team experience.

“Celtic are happy with the progress I’m making. The reason Celtic sent me out on loan was to play games, learn and hopefully come back ready to play for the first team. I’m enjoying it right now and just thankful it’s all coming together.

Improving concentration

“I’ve learned I can play in a lot of different positions comfortably. My issue was always my concentration, so I think that has come on leaps and bounds too.”
