Brendan’s “put this narrative in your pipes and smoke it” gesture to press-box

CELTIC 7-1 DUNDEE…Brendan Rodgers was clearly delighted last night after his side ran out 7-1 winners over hapless Dundee. It should be noted that the visitors were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time as Celtic clicked into top gear in that first half.

Any other opponent in the Scottish Premiership playing at Paradise under the lights would have been blown away by this Celtic team who are now, at last in top gear, ready for a league and cup double charge.

Dundee must have known that it was going to be one of those nights when their luxury team-bus broke down on London Road between the Celtic social club and the stadium.  Presumably the players and officials had to make the short walk in the pouring Glasgow rain to get to the stadium.

“It was outstanding,” Brendan Rodgers told Celtic TV afterwards. “The tempo, the passing and the creativity were all there. It was a fantastic night. We scored great goals.

KELLY PUTS ICING ON THE CAKE

“One of our young guys Daniel Kelly gets his first-ever goal for the club. I can be envious of him as a Celtic supporter because he has been here since he was eight years of age and that is all that hard work paying off.

“It was a great finish from him. I am so happy for the players because they didn’t give up on the game and they kept working and fighting. Some of the football was absolutely outstanding.”

I think it was after the fifth Celtic goal in the first half when Rodgers celebrated by turning to the centre of the main stand and making one or two interesting gestures to what looked like the Press Box, with the likely meaning “put this narrative in your pipes and smoke it”…YOU REALLY MUST BELIEVE US.,WE’RE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUE…
